Markos grew up in Greece and Cassidy in Washington state, Markos earned his doctorate in evolutionary biology from the University of Wales in the UK while Cassidy studied environmental science at the University of California Santa Barbara. We NEVER thought we would end up as farmers, but life has a funny way of steering you in the right direction, we started this venture in 2017 when we moved onto a beautiful property on the central coast of California. We tentativley purchased a few laying chickens, then our first meat chickens, a few dairy goats, and then a few sheep.... things snowballed from there! Once we got the hang of processing our own food we realized there was a high demand for local, ethically and sustainably raised meat and eggs both from our neighbors and from local restaurants.

Throughout this crazy venture we have created a philosophy of farming that centers around soil health, land stewardship, diversity of life on the farm, and a love and respect for our animals. We believe these simple practices help to reduce carbon in the atmosphere, creates healthy, sustainable protein as well as a stronger sense of community between small farms, their neighbors and the world!
